I am Derrick

I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist, and I offer a private telehealth space to think through your relationship with AI — what it gives you, what it costs you, and what you want it to be. I won't rush you toward a conclusion, and I won't pretend there's only one right answer. I use AI most days myself. I just know the difference between what it can hold and what a person can, and I'm here for the part it can't.

My Background
  • MA in Marriage and Family Therapy. Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I focus on adult mental health and relationships.

How I Will Work With You

I provide a calm, safe process for you to explore your relationship with technology.

Step 1: I listen to you

The free consultation is you telling me what's actually going on, in whatever words you use for it. No forms asking you to rate your "AI usage," no intake interrogation. I mostly listen. By the end you'll know whether I'm the right person, and so will I.

Step 2: Meeting Safely

Sessions run on a secure, confidential platform — no waiting room, no chance of running into anyone, nothing to explain to anybody. Same legal confidentiality as any therapy office, without the office.

Step 3: Finding Your Way

Not at "your AI problem" — at the whole picture: what these conversations give you, what they might be standing in for, what you'd change if anything. I'll be honest with you along the way. What you do with what we find is yours to decide, and when you have what you came for, we're done.

Why I Started This Practice

I've been a therapist for almost a decade, and I've watched technology transform how people live and connect. AI is the biggest shift yet. It can do remarkable things — I'd know, I use it myself. But somewhere along the way, talking to AI became something people don't talk about. The jokes, the headlines, the labels  they've taught people to stay quiet about something that has become genuinely important in their lives.

This practice is my attempt at removing that shame: a private place to say the things you haven't said out loud, to someone who won't label you, judge you, or ridicule you and who won't hand you a verdict either. Whatever your AI conversations mean, that's yours to work out. I'm the person who'll sit with you while you do.
